Has been a while that I wanted to talk about it and finally I succeeded.
Die Antwoord.Only by the name, a person might immediately think that it can be a Nordic or German singer,
but it's not, I thought the same thing, but then fishing around here andthere I discovered that it is the African word for The Answer.
Ninja, Yo-Landi Vi$$ er and DJ Hi-Tek are the components of a group, that through his music and, I'd add, his videos, managed to create what I would call Dirt-ronic (Dirty -Electronic).
Let me explain you.
From videos like "I FINK YOU FREEKY" or "Evil Boy" feat Wanga, we perceive a sort of reaction, which initially reject us, it's understandable, because their style is very much based on the shock or better on the Dirty: in the video "Evil Boy" Ninja wears a fur coat made of white rats with red eyes.
What draws us again is the diversity factor that has spread inside.
Ninja's New-Ethnic white makeup, the type of dance performed in the videos, the photography, in my opinion excellent, and even a kind of interpretation,
or maybe even fresh expression
of Poor Art.
Even the collaboration with the young Designer, Alexander Wang, is proof of their
capability of transmission of their own message.
