10th Anniversary Retrospective-Show: Lanvin Fall Winter 2012 2013

What do you usually expect from a party?
I usually expect extreme fun.
Alber Elbaz in 2001 became the Creative Director of one of the most influential Maison in the fashion world. Lanvin.
This season was the 10th anniversary of his enrolement, and Alber decided to put on a sort of "Retrospective-Runway", a huge party during which the designer sang too.
The first outfits reminded me a bit of the Fall Winter 2007 show, a truly deep study on the structure, construction of the dress, and color blocks.
When the models got in with the fur, leather and jacquard outfits, I immediately thought about the Fall Winter 2008 2009 : a strong and fierce woman, walking down the street of Paris in the late 1940s.
There was also a reminiscence of the Spring seasons: Spring 2008, Lanvin/Alber's draping ability always mesmerizes me; Spring 2011, the sporty and stretchy shapes.
The print and lace dresses with the colorful fur stoles Mr Elbaz put at the end of the show with the Fall-Winter 2010/2011-ish black and white fur, made me start dreaming about the whole story of this collection, which I thought and I still think is based on the most important rule :
Fashion is fun and we must keep it in mind and always remember it.
Alber Elbaz, focusing on the strenghts of previous collections and on few new trends, has known how to give  people  what they were asking for a long time :
Emotion.
